Dr. Andrew Wong

BMSc, DDS, MSc, FRCD(C), Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Andrew C.E. Wong received his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Alberta. He then completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto prior to obtaining his Master’s degree and Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of British Columbia. Through dental school and GPR, he developed a passion for pediatric dentistry and working with children; treating both pediatric patients and those with special needs.

During his dental training, he received multiple awards: Arthur D. Cumming Medal for outstanding merit in children’s dentistry, Dr. W. Scott Hamilton Oral Surgery Award, Edmonton District Dental Society Student Award, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy Student Dental Research Award. During his specialty training, he received the Dr. Keith Titley Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Training Scholarship awarded by the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry for academic achievement, research and extracurricular/community involvement.

Dr. Wong is currently a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry and received his fellowship in pediatric dentistry from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is a member of the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is a clinical instructor/lecturer in pediatric dentistry at the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. In addition, he serves as the pediatric dentistry representative to the Alberta Society of Dental Specialists, he is on the board of Directors for the Edmonton District Dental Society and he maintains privileges at the Alberta Surgical Centre and the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Wong is an avid golfer, badminton player and sports enthusiast. He was born and raised in Edmonton and is very happy to be back in his hometown.
